BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE is Good Entertainment

As I sat in the theater for the screening of BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE, I thought back to 1995 when we were first introduced to Detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence), the young Miami police officers who caused havoc as they went after the bad guys in BAD BOYS.  Twenty-nine years later the Bad Boys are back, older, and still loyal to one another and the ones they love.

It’s Detective Lieutenant Michael Eugene “Mike” Lowrey’s wedding day and his best man Detective Lieutenant Marcus Miles Burnett needs to make a pit stop (he is a food junkie.)  Something happens at the reception that changes Marcus’s outlook on life.  It is hilarious.

In BAD BOYS FOR LIFE, Captain Conrad Howard is killed and Mike’s son Armando Aretas (Jacob Scipio) is in prison for the murder.

Years after his death someone is making it look as if Captain Howard was a crooked cop. The question of who really killed Captain Conrad Howard will be answered but only after Mike and Marcus clear his name of being involved with the Romanian Mafia.  During all this the guys are set up and become fugitives, there are kidnappings, revenge, hatred, mistrust, hard decisions, lots of cursing, and shootouts, all with a good dose of laughter.

Most of the same actors are in the film except for Theresa Randle who played Marcus’s wife in previous films.  Tasha Smith has taken up the role and doesn’t miss a beat.

One stand out is Dennis Greene who plays Reggie McDonald, Marcus’ son-in-law. His stoic look and movements are hilarious.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, billed as Adil & Bilall, are the directors of Bad Boys 4. The pair previously directed the third installment of the series and did a fantastic job of it of carrying it over to the 4th.

BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE is fun entertainment.  Not an OSCAR-nominated film but the type of film we need.  A relaxing fun time at the movies.

This fourth and I am sure final installment of this franchise truly goes out with a bang.

BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE receives 4 out 5 winks of the EYE!

Until next time keep your EYE to the sky!
