The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Bonnie DeShong
Mario and Luigi, the twin plumbers, are living and working in their new home in the Mushroom Kingdom. It’s Princess Peach’s birthday, and everyone is celebrating except for Princess Peach. She is thinking about her past and who and where her family is. Mario has a major crush on Princess Peach but is too afraid to let it be known. Bowser is still in captivity in the Mushroom Kingdom, but it seems he has been reformed from his evil ways. He doesn’t realize that his son, Bowser, Jr., has built a planet that will help him rescue his father, destroy the world, and rule the galaxy. To accomplish this Jr kidnaps Princess Rosalina and must deplete her power.
The Mario Brothers, Princess Peach, Toad, and their new friends Yoshi and Fox team up to rescue Rosalina and stop the destruction.
Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Keegan-Michael Key, – Jack Black, Benny Safdie, and Brie Larson return to voice the characters.
I must admit that I have not seen the 2023 Mario Brothers film nor have I ever played the Nintendo game, so I really didn’t have a clue what it was all about. I gauged the film on the reactions of the children who attended the screening. They seemed to really like it.
With that being said, the story was easy to follow, and I did enjoy the film enough that I would take my 7 and 11-year-old niece and nephews to see it.
I got into the film’s animation and design created by Illumination Studios Paris in Paris, France. Production. It was amazing.
I give the film 3 ½ winks of the EYE.
Until next time, keep your EYE to the sky!
